K-12 Interest Section

Welcome to the MiTESOL K-12 Interest Section!

My name is Maria Lograsso, and I am honored to serve as the new K-12 Interest Section Chair for Michigan TESOL. As an educator and instructional coach dedicated to multilingual learners, I am passionate about fostering equitable, inclusive, and linguistically responsive practices in classrooms across Michigan.

The K-12 Interest Section serves as a collaborative space for educators who support English learners at the elementary and secondary levels. Together, we share resources, elevate promising practices, and advocate for policies that reflect the diverse needs of our students and school communities.

This year, my goal is to strengthen our network of educators through professional learning, shared storytelling, and opportunities for connection. Whether you are a classroom teacher, specialist, administrator, or advocate, your voice and expertise are essential to our work.

I invite you to get involved—join a discussion, attend a conference, or reach out with ideas. Let’s continue to learn from one another and work collectively to support Michigan’s multilingual learners.

With appreciation,
Maria Lograsso
